I, for one, welcome our new Zuckerberg overlord.
The terrifying sights you see above and below are enough to chill you to your core even before you log on to Facebook to see if any of your stupid friends from high school used the "This Is Your Digital Life" app and handed over all your data to Cambridge Analytica.
SEE ALSO: Read Mark Zuckerberg's prepared testimony ahead of Facebook’s congressional hearingZuckerberg is on Capitol Hill on Tuesday to finally testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation in a highly-anticipated joint hearing about, well, all of the tire fires the social media platform has managed to set over the past few years.
For the record, these are, as far as I know, not real Zuckerberg clones but, rather, cardboard cutouts posted all around the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. by international advocacy group Avaaz to protest the proliferation of fake news and fake profiles across Facebook.
In a press release, Avaaz said, "The group is calling on the CEO to ban all bots, alert the public any and every time users see fake or disinformation, fund fact checkers around the world, and submit to an independent audit to review the scale and scope of fake news."
Mashable has reached out to Avaaz for additional comments.
Whether Zuckerberg saw all of his cardboard clones is unknown, as is whether or not he was as unnerved by the sight as the rest of us.
The Zuck sits down to face the music sometime after 2:15 p.m. ET on Tuesday; here's how to watch and be sure to stay tuned to Mashable for more updates as events warrant and the cutouts make their move.
